|dewline||08:28 am - Changing Passwords in xjournal|
Needing to update the password for xjournal purposes and have forgotten the procedure. Will continue searching this community's archives in the meantime. Using the current build on 10.6.8, FYI...

|dewline||08:45 pm - Downloading History|
Okay, I've got Version 1.0.6b6 (344) operating on Mac OS X version 10.6.8 on a clean install. Trying to get my history backed up locally from scratch and not getting any of it. "Downloading 0 of 0" is the answer I get.
Possible root causes of this?

|thnidu||01:11 am - two problems on Mac Lion|
I have Mac Lion (OS X 10.7.3) and Firefox 12.0.
- Active apps appear in the Dock with a little bright spot below their icon. I have TextPad open while I'm typing this in Firefox. If I go to the Dock and click on TextPad, the TextPad window comes to the front; if it's on another deskspace, that deskspace appears. But sometimes when I click on XJournal in the same situation, it crashes and gives an error report.
- The last two lines on XJournal's Help menu are "Open XJournal Community" and "Open XJournal home page". The first one brings me here. The second is 404:
This is not encouraging in terms of program support.

|mcroft||01:09 pm - A build to workaround the OSX Lion -1 problem|
I posted this as a comment to conjurdude's Lion upgrade Woes post, but not everyone is going to see it there, so I'm reposting here…
I've built a version of XJournal that can log in on Lion. If anyone needs it, it's available at the link below. No warranty, but feel free to take it and use it.
Experimental XJournal for Lion (only)
If you can't use XJournal because of the -1 problem, it's worth a shot. This version is marked 1.0.6b6a and is NOT in the svn repository.
Install by downloading the disk image, opening it, dragging the XJournal application bundle to your Applications Folder (or wherever), and launching it.
1: I can't sign it, so it's not updatable via Sparkle.
2: I can't tell if it's slower because I'm using a slower method or it's just LJ flakiness. Login in particular seems to be slow.
3: We've tested most functions on two Lion MBPs. There could be surprises or things that don't work that I may not be able to easily diagnose.
That being said, this version...
1: runs on Lion on my MBP and my wife's MBP.
2: logs in, gets user pics and tags, allows you to post, checks friends lists, shows history, and does everything else we tried. We don't know if it does things we didn't try.
Comment here if you notice anything, or if the devs want my changes.

Anyone else having issues logging in successfully after making the jump to Lion? More curious than anything...

|mazzoniguide||04:16 pm - LJ backup again|
Is it possible to make a backup of my journal with this app?
I only found this: http://xjournal.livejournal.com/257391.html and wanted to ask: any changes since 2009??

|inishmaan||05:32 pm - History Browser?|
Hi, I recently switched from a PC to a Mac and, thus, from Semagic to xjournal.
Xjournal is supposed to have a history browser and the possibility to edit old entries, but I simply cannot find the history browser. I am using Snow Leopard and I am able to log into xjournal and post entries, but I do not see an item on the toolbar or anywhere else that says "history" or "edit entries" or anything like that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

|acteonputation||09:56 pm - Dreamwidth support|
I am all for Facebook integration on most things, but not a journalling system. Consequently, I am in the process of switching to Dreamwidth.org, and am wondering given that this is a fork of dreamwidth whether xjournal supports it.

|gigiss||02:18 pm - Could Not Log In|
XJournal 1.0.6b6 (344) has been running smooth for ages, but this morning I launched it and got an error message saying "Could not log in. Client error: No mode specified".
This is all mysterious to me – might there be anyone out there who can educate me? Thanks in advance!

|typographer||08:19 pm - LJ Backup|
So does anyone know a utility for backing up one's LJ that runs on Mac OS X and actually works?
XJournal just spent hours on the download saying "Downloading 0 of 0" and, at least according to Lil Snitch, wasn't actually accessing the internet in any way. It will log in and let me post, and such, but doesn't seem to be able to actually download my journal.
