09:56 pm - Dreamwidth support
I am all for Facebook integration on most things, but not a journalling system. Consequently, I am in the process of switching to Dreamwidth.org, and am wondering given that this is a fork of dreamwidth whether xjournal supports it.

Thanks,

--Sam

I last asked 18 months ago, and got an "I'm working on it." in reply. Nothing since, so I've rather given up hope.

Because of Facebook integration? It's not mandatory to share posts, or am I missing something?

Agreed. I get that it's annoying, but it's 100% possible never to use the Facebook functionality.

It's not the feature itself, it's the fact that the implementation of that feature was handled horrendously from a privacy perspective, with a side serving of egregious trolling and privacy violation by LJ staffers which absolutely nothing was done about. And that's only the latest in a series of bad things.

I mean, I've got nothing against FB integration - in fact I'm campaigning to get it implemented over on Dreamwidth... but if it *does* get implemented there, it will be done so in a way that respects individuals right to actually choose to use it or not, and retains strong protection for privacy, instead of allowing people to ride roughshod over other people's privacy.
